Plantersville, TX (August 19, 2026) – A five-vehicle accident occurred on August 18 at State Highway 249 and FM 1774, leaving one person critically injured and sending the patient to a hospital by air.
Emergency units arrived after the vehicles became involved in the wreck. One person was trapped inside a vehicle and was quickly removed. The critically injured patient was then flown to a hospital for treatment.
The accident prompted a full closure of State Highway 249 in both directions at FM 1774. Drivers were asked to avoid the stretch between FM 1774 and Pinebrook Dr and use another route when possible.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the collision, and additional details had not been released at the time of publication.
