Greene Twp., PA (August 3, 2026) – A 61-year-old Fayetteville man died on Saturday, August 1, after a Ford Mustang struck him on Mount Pleasant Road. The collision was reported around 12:12 p.m. in Franklin County.
The Mustang crossed the double yellow line and entered the opposing lane before reaching the shoulder. The vehicle then hit Karl Hafner Jr., who was pronounced dead at the scene.
After striking Hafner, the Mustang hit a utility pole before coming to rest. Emergency units flew the driver to a local hospital, though the extent of the motorist’s injuries was not available. Authorities continue examining the accident to establish the complete sequence of events.
