Broward County, FL (June 28, 2026) – One person was killed, and another was seriously injured following a wrong-way crash on Friday evening, June 26, on eastbound Interstate 75 near mile marker 36 in Broward County. Officials arrived at the area after reports of a head-on collision involving two vehicles.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2020 Tesla Model 3 driven by a 45-year-old woman from Parkland was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 75. A 2026 BMW X3 driven by a 25-year-old man from Cape Coral was traveling eastbound in the correct direction when the Tesla collided head-on with his vehicle.
The Tesla driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cape Coral driver was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Authorities confirmed the crash remains under investigation.
