Tulsa, OK (August 20, 2026) – A 28-year-old Tulsa woman died, and four other people were injured Wednesday evening, August 19, after two vehicles left I-44 in west Tulsa.
The vehicles were traveling westbound on I-44 shortly before 6:30 p.m. near the west split where traffic merges with I-244. Vica Perez was traveling in the outside lane while another vehicle approached in the inside lane.
The driver of the other vehicle crossed into the outside lane and struck Perez’s vehicle. Both vehicles then left the roadway.
Perez died as a result of the wreck. Two passengers who were traveling with her were injured. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt, while two passengers in that vehicle were also injured.
Additional details about the people hurt in the accident were not included in the initial report. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, with further information expected as the review continues.
