Berrien County, MI (September 8, 2026) – A deadly crash involving an SUV and a pickup truck occurred Tuesday, September 7, around 11:30 a.m. on US 31 near Napier Avenue.
The preliminary investigation found that an SUV was traveling south in the northbound lanes of US 31 when it struck a pickup truck head-on. The SUV driver, a 42-year-old Muskegon woman, was killed in the accident.
The pickup truck driver, a 34-year-old Hartland man, was seriously injured but did not suffer life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Corewell Health Hospital for treatment.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains underway.
