Portland, ME (August 30, 2026) – A 57-year-old woman was killed on the night of August 30 while crossing the street near 1837 Forest Ave in Portland. The woman was struck around 9:18 p.m. near the Hannaford entrance by Riverside Industrial.
The vehicle involved fled after the collision and was described as a dark-colored pickup truck traveling toward Portland. The woman’s name had not been publicly released Tuesday morning as her family was being notified.
Investigators are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the accident or may have video from the surrounding area. They are also looking for surveillance, dashcam, or doorbell footage that could show the vehicle before or after the wreck.
The investigation remains active as investigators work to identify the pickup and determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
