Fishers, IN (August 20, 2026) – A 36-year-old man was killed on August 19 while changing a flat tire on the right shoulder of I-69 northbound near exit 210 in Fishers.
The man was identified as Gregory Christopher II of Parker City, Indiana. Emergency units found him in front of his van shortly after 9:45 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates Christopher was changing the tire when a northbound vehicle struck him. The driver did not stop and left the area. Investigators believe Christopher may have been stopped along I-69 for about 45 minutes before the accident.
The vehicle believed to have struck Christopher has not been identified. Motorists traveling northbound or southbound near mile marker 209 between 8:45 and 9:45 p.m. were asked to provide dash camera footage if available. The investigation remains active as investigators work to identify the driver.
