Lima, OH (July 1, 2026) – A motorcyclist lost their life after a vehicle turned into the path of the bike on Northwest St. in Allen County.
The fatal collision happened at about 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, near the Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution. Investigators said a car traveling south on Northwest Street failed to yield while turning into the correctional facility and entered the path of a northbound motorcycle.
Joseph Foust IV was critically hurt and taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The driver of the car was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. No additional information has been released.
The cause of the fatal wreck continues to be reviewed as investigators work to determine all the circumstances surrounding what happened.
