Atlanta, GA (August 27, 2026) – A 33-year-old man was walking onto I-75/85 near Midtown Atlanta early on Thursday morning, August 27, when he was struck. The man was found lying in the far-right lane of the northbound Downtown Connector near the Williams St NW bridge.
Officers arrived around 4:58 a.m., and medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the location. Investigators said a vehicle hit him in the right lane, followed by an unknown number of additional vehicles.
The first driver remained at the scene while the accident investigations unit worked to determine what led to the fatal accident. Further details about the collision were not immediately available.
