Holiday, FL (August 12, 2026) – A 34-year-old Holiday woman was driving a Toyota 4Runner north on U.S. 19 around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, when the SUV left the outside shoulder and traveled several hundred feet.
The Toyota then collided with a Hyundai Elantra stopped at a red light at Continental Dr., according to the initial report. The Elantra’s driver, a 59-year-old Holiday woman, and her 38-year-old passenger, a Holiday man, were hurt. The 4Runner driver was also injured.
Emergency units took all three people to an area hospital. The Elantra driver later died from her injuries. The identities of those involved have not been released beyond their ages and city of residence. The investigation into the collision remains underway as additional details are gathered.
