St. Louis, MO (September 10, 2026) – A tractor-trailer struck a home along Interstate 255 in south St. Louis County on Wednesday afternoon, September 9, leaving one person dead and at least two others hurt. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the tractor-trailer first collided with an SUV before striking a home on Kinswood Ln.
The person who died was not immediately identified, and it was not confirmed whether that person was inside either vehicle. Kinswood Ln was closed while emergency units worked at the location.
The homeowner told a local news reporter that he was sitting in his living room when the house began to fall apart. He described the sound as being similar to an earthquake.
The cause of the collision and additional details about those hurt were not immediately available. The investigation into what led to the wreck remains active.
