Greencastle, PA (August 13, 2026) – A Maryland man was taken into custody after striking two vehicles and sending one into a home in Greencastle on August 11.
The police said Brian Brandt, 46, of Ijamsville, Maryland, was driving a stolen truck while allegedly under the influence. Brandt reportedly took the truck from a local motel around 10 p.m. before hitting two vehicles in the 300 block of W Baltimore St more than an hour later.
The force of the collision pushed one vehicle into a nearby home, causing structural damage. A person inside the residence was injured and taken to a local hospital.
Brandt was removed from the truck and taken into custody. Detective said he refused chemical testing, though his breath smelled of alcohol.
Brandt faces charges including theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, DUI, and aggravated assault, according to his affidavit. The investigation remains underway as police continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident.
