Nashwauk, MN (August 31, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident on southbound Highway 169 at County Road 86 left one driver injured Sunday afternoon, August 30. The collision occurred at about 12:34 p.m. when a 2016 Subaru Outback was crossing Highway 169 from County Road 86.
A 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling southbound on Highway 169 when it made contact with the rear driver-side portion of the Subaru. The Subaru driver, 36-year-old Hannah Lynn Hill of Grand Marais, was not hurt.
The Dodge driver, 50-year-old Heather Renee Smith of McIntosh, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Hibbing Hospital.
The investigation into what led to the accident remains ongoing.
