Encino, CA (September 14, 2026) – One person was killed and five others were injured Saturday, September 12, after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Densmore Avenue in Encino.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the collision around 11:11 a.m. Six people were transported to hospitals, and a woman was pronounced dead upon arrival. The conditions of the other five people were not immediately known.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that a Tesla and a Lexus were involved. One vehicle struck a pole, and authorities also reported that a pedestrian was injured. Traffic was temporarily shut down in both directions on Ventura Boulevard east and west of Densmore Avenue while the crash scene was handled. Our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of the woman who lost her life in this crash. We also wish the five injured people and the injured pedestrian a full and speedy recovery.

How Can Drivers Reduce Risks at Busy Intersections?

Busy intersections can become dangerous when several vehicles, pedestrians, and turning movements occur at the same time. Drivers should approach intersections at a controlled speed and scan for vehicles entering from side streets, pedestrians crossing nearby, and traffic that may be changing direction. Keeping attention focused on the roadway gives motorists more time to respond to unexpected movements.

Turning requires additional care because a driver may need to watch several areas at once. Before turning, motorists should check mirrors and blind spots, look for pedestrians and cyclists, and make sure the intended path is clear. Drivers should continue watching for people or vehicles throughout the turn rather than relying only on an initial check.

Roadside objects such as utility poles can also increase the consequences of a crash. Maintaining lane position and avoiding distractions can help drivers stay in control near intersections. Allowing adequate following distance and slowing when visibility is limited can provide additional time to react to changing traffic conditions.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.

Focus on your recovery and
