Mountain Pass, CA (August 28, 2026) – One person was killed early on August 26 after a white sedan collided with a semi-truck on northbound Interstate 15 near Mountain Pass.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:20 a.m. near mile marker 15. The initial incident log indicated that the white sedan was swerving before colliding with the semi-truck.
A person was found on the roadway with obvious signs of death. Emergency crews requested an air ambulance, but the incident was later classified as a fatality. All three northbound lanes were shut down while crews worked at the scene, and traffic was diverted through the right shoulder. The identity of the person who died was not immediately released.

When traffic conditions change suddenly, giving larger vehicles additional space can help reduce the risk of a collision.
