Raleigh, NC (July 12, 2026) – A person riding a scooter was seriously hurt after a vehicle struck the scooter on Friday morning, July 10, near New Bern Ave and Old Milburnie Rd in Raleigh.
The two-vehicle collision happened shortly after 8 a.m., according to initial reports. Emergency units arrived at the roadway and took the scooter rider to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car was not hurt.
Investigators said the motorist remained at the site, and there were no signs of impairment. One inbound lane on Old Milburnie Rd was expected to stay closed for one to two hours while crews documented what happened and cleared the roadway.
