Miami, FL (September 11, 2026) – A 10-year-old girl died after she and a boy were struck by a vehicle while riding an electric bicycle on Wednesday, September 9, in northwest Miami-Dade County.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the hit-and-run crash near Northwest 117th Street and Northwest Seventh Avenue at approximately 8:40 p.m. Investigators said a silver or gray 2009-2012 Nissan Versa was traveling northbound on Northwest Seventh Avenue when its driver turned left onto Northwest 117th Street.
The vehicle struck the two children as they traveled along Northwest 117th Street on an e-bike, authorities said. Deputies found both victims unresponsive in the roadway. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews transported both children to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
The girl later died from her injuries. The boy was also hospitalized in critical condition. Authorities described the Nissan as a silver or gray 2009-2012 Versa, and the crash was being investigated as a hit-and-run.
