Birch Tree, MO (August 19, 2026) – Two drivers suffered moderate injuries on Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on US 60 west of Birch Tree in Shannon County. The collision happened around 4:10 p.m. on August 17.
According to the preliminary report, an 81-year-old man from Clay, Arkansas, was driving a 2026 Ford Maverick westbound and attempting to make a left turn. A 69-year-old Eminence man was also traveling westbound on a 1996 Harley-Davidson when the motorcycle struck the side of the Ford.
Both drivers were taken for medical treatment. The 69-year-old motorcycle rider was transported by ambulance, while the 81-year-old driver was taken to Mercy in Springfield. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were towed from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation as the circumstances are reviewed. We are thinking of both drivers as they recover.
