Huntsville, OH (September 1, 2026) – Two drivers were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Monday morning, August 31, on US 33 near Huntsville. The collision occurred around 7:40 a.m. at Township Road 221 and closed US 33 in both directions for about two hours.
According to the crash report, 94-year-old Dale Stanley of Belle Center was stopped at Township Road 221 in a 2018 Chevrolet 2500HD. He attempted to cross US 33 and struck a 2016 Ford Escape driven by 66-year-old Michelle Suerdick of Russells Point, who was traveling eastbound.
Both drivers were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Stanley was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The incident remains under review by authorities.
