Fernley, NV (August 20, 2026) – Two people were hospitalized after a two-car collision east of Fernley that caused traffic backups on August 18. One person was taken by air, while the other went to a hospital by ambulance.
The westbound left lane of I-80 remained closed for several hours near mile marker 81, about 30 miles east of Fernley. The lane has since reopened, allowing traffic to move normally again.
Both people taken to the hospital had non-life-threatening injuries. No names or additional details about those involved were immediately released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing as more information is gathered.
