East Peoria, IL (September 3, 2026) – Two people were taken to a local hospital following a multi-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon, September 2, on the Murray Baker Bridge. The traffic disruption involved at least five vehicles in the eastbound lanes of I-74.
The pileup occurred at about 4:35 p.m. on the Tazewell County side of the bridge, which carries interstate traffic across the Illinois River between East Peoria and Peoria. Other people involved declined medical treatment at the scene.
