Pittsburgh, PA (August 30, 2026) – Three vehicles collided and caught fire inside the Squirrel Hill Tunnel on Friday night, August 28.
The accident forced the tunnel to close in both directions along the Parkway East. A witness video showed thick, black smoke coming from the tunnel.
Two people were hurt in the collision, with police describing their injuries as minor. The investigation into what caused the accident remains underway, with additional details expected as they become available.
