Agawam, MA (September 7, 2026) – Three people were taken to a hospital early on Saturday morning, September 6, after a collision involving an ambulance at the intersection of Boland Way and East Columbus. Emergency units arrived around 1:30 a.m. after the wreck was reported.
Two Agawam firefighter paramedics were hurt in the collision, with their injuries described as minor. A passenger in the other vehicle was ejected and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The driver of the second vehicle was detained in Springfield before being taken into custody in Chicopee. The person was wanted for alleged offenses that occurred earlier in the evening within Chicopee’s jurisdiction.
