Nevada, MO (September 14, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision occurred Saturday morning, September 12 on I-49 about 7.5 miles north of Nevada in Vernon County.
The collision happened around 9:20 a.m. near mile marker 112.0. A 23-year-old man from Belton, Missouri, was driving a 2012 Ford F-150 northbound when the pickup hydroplaned, crossed the center line, and struck the driver-side door of a southbound 2025 Chevrolet Trax.
The Trax driver, a 60-year-old man from Ponte Town, Alaska, sustained injuries. A 62-year-old female passenger in the Chevrolet also suffered injuries. Both were taken to Nevada Regional by EMS for treatment.
The Ford sustained moderate damage, while the Chevrolet was totalled. Both vehicles were towed from the site.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the wreck remains underway, with additional details expected as the review continues.
