Moreno Valley, CA (August 2, 2026) – Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash on eastbound State Route 60 west of Day Street in Moreno Valley on July 31.

According to the California Highway Patrol traffic log, the wreck was reported at about 4:53 p.m. Initial information indicated a white Ford F-150 and a white BMW SUV were involved. One of the vehicles remained drivable following the collision, while emergency units were requested to assist on the roadway.

Traffic was affected after one vehicle blocked the No. 1 lane on eastbound SR-60. Fire personnel checked on another party involved, and the roadway remained active until the incident was cleared later in the evening.

The cause of the crash is still being examined as additional information is gathered.

We hope those injured make a full and speedy recovery.

Why Lane-Blocking Crashes Can Increase Traffic Risks

Crashes that block one or more travel lanes can quickly create hazardous driving conditions, especially on busy highways. As traffic slows or merges into fewer open lanes, drivers may have less time to react to changing conditions ahead. This can increase the likelihood of secondary collisions if motorists are following too closely or are distracted.

After a highway crash, crews typically work to assist those involved, remove damaged vehicles, and restore normal traffic flow as safely as possible. Drivers approaching a lane closure should reduce speed, stay alert, and follow temporary traffic patterns. Leaving extra following distance and avoiding sudden lane changes can help reduce the risk of additional crashes while the roadway is being cleared.
