Escondido, CA (August 2, 2026) – A multi-vehicle traffic crash involving at least three vehicles caused disruptions on July 31 on the northbound I-15 near the State Route 78 west connector in Escondido.
According to dispatch information, the collision was reported around 10:24 a.m. Initial reports indicated that a white AirMax Air Conditioning van had been rear-ended by a white Ford pickup, with two additional vehicles also involved. Later updates identified the other vehicles as a green Jeep Wrangler and a white Nissan. Debris was scattered across the roadway, and one vehicle came to rest on the left-hand side while others stopped along the right shoulder.
Emergency units were sent to assist those involved. Dispatch logs indicated at least two people were hurt, though the extent of their injuries has not been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation as more details become available.
