Erie County, OH (June 21, 2026) – Two teenagers were seriously injured on Saturday afternoon in a vehicle crash involving an ATV and an SUV in Erie County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. on State Route 113. Investigators said a 10-year-old was operating an ATV in a private drive before entering eastbound SR 113, where it collided with an SUV. The ATV, which also had a 13-year-old passenger, caught fire following the impact.
Both juveniles suffered serious injuries and were transported to Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk for treatment. The 13-year-old was later flown to UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland with life-threatening injuries. The SUV, driven by Martin Klenk of Berlin Heights, Ohio, traveled off the left side of the roadway after the collision, overturned, and struck a utility pole.
Additional details regarding the SUV driver’s injuries were not immediately released. Emergency units responded to the scene and assisted with medical care and fire suppression while securing the roadway. Our thoughts are with those injured.
