Benson, AZ (August 18, 2026) – Two people died after a three-vehicle accident on I-10 near Benson early on Sunday, August 16.

According to the initial report, Hunter Susan Milo Barrows, of Vail, was driving eastbound near milepost 300 when she lost control. Her vehicle crossed the median and sideswiped an oncoming vehicle before becoming lodged beneath the trailer of a semitruck.

Luciano L. Johnson, of Rio Rico, was traveling with Barrows at the time. Barrows, 26, and Johnson, 25, both died at the scene.

The circumstances that led to the loss of control have not been released. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing as officials work to determine the cause of the fatal wreck.
