Brighton Township, MI (September 2, 2026) – Three people were hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon, September 1, after a two-car accident at Old U.S. 23 and Hyne Rd.
The accident happened shortly before noon. Preliminary information indicated that one driver ran a traffic signal and struck the other vehicle from the side, trapping one driver inside.
Emergency units freed the trapped driver and provided care until medical personnel arrived. One person was considered a priority-one patient, while two others had significant injuries and were classified as priority-two patients.
All three people were taken to a hospital. Their conditions were not known when the initial report was released, and the roadway remained closed for several hours.
