Hopewell, NY (September 7, 2026) – Three people were seriously injured Friday morning, September 4 at the intersection of State Routes 5 and 20 and Algerine St.
The three-car accident happened shortly before 11 a.m. A black 2014 Chrysler 300 was traveling westbound and trying to pass several vehicles when it entered the path of an eastbound car.
The eastbound car was struck and rotated. The Chrysler was then hit by a third car, according to the initial report.
An 18-year-old was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. A 41-year-old woman and a 55-year-old woman were also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
State Rtes 5 and 20 remained closed for several hours before reopening. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, with additional details expected as the inquiry continues.
