What Details Are Usually Reviewed After a Two-Vehicle Roadway Crash?
After a two-vehicle accident, several types of information may help explain how the vehicles came into contact and why they left the roadway. Investigators may review the positions of the vehicles, visible damage, tire marks, and the surrounding road layout. Statements from the people involved and witnesses can also provide useful details about what happened before the collision.
Weather, visibility, traffic flow, and roadway surfaces may also be considered. Medical records can later help document the extent of injuries reported after the crash. In some cases, photographs, nearby cameras, or vehicle data may provide additional information. Early reports often contain only basic facts, while a fuller picture can develop as more evidence becomes available.
