Mabton, WA (July 20, 2026) – Three young people died in a two-vehicle collision late on Saturday, July 18, at Green Valley Road and Snipes Pump Road. The intersection lies between Mabton and Sunnyside, and the call came in shortly before midnight.
A Subaru Legacy was turning east onto Green Valley Road from Snipes Pump Road. At the same time, a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling west on Green Valley Road.
Three of the five people riding in the Subaru were ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Their ages were not provided. The driver and front passenger were taken to a nearby hospital.
The Jetta driver was also hospitalized with injuries. Investigators believe intoxicants may have contributed, and the Subaru driver is expected to face three vehicular homicide counts. No identities had been released after the accident. The circumstances behind the wreck are still being examined.
