Beachwood, OH (June 23, 2026) – A 3-year-old child died after a vehicle hit an outdoor dining space on Monday afternoon, June 22, at City Barbeque in the Pavilion Shopping Center. The crash happened around 1:30 p.m.
Officials said 18-year-old Jasmine McFadden was driving through the shopping center parking lot before leaving the road. The vehicle crossed a curb and entered the outdoor dining space where the child was eating with family members.
The child was taken to a local hospital and later died. The child’s name had not been released as of Tuesday night.
McFadden was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. The police also charged 61-year-old Kenneth McFadden, a passenger, with obstructing official business and wrongful entrustment after they said he first told officers he had been driving. Investigators are reviewing the full sequence of events leading up to the collision.
