Ralls County, MO (August 20, 2026) – Four teenagers were hurt early on Wednesday morning, August 19, after a car left US-61 at Quarry Ln north of New London.
The vehicle was traveling north on US-61 around 2 a.m. when it ran off the right side of the highway. It struck a guardrail before flipping and coming to rest down a steep embankment.
A 16-year-old boy from Hannibal was driving, while three other 16-year-old boys were passengers. One passenger from Quincy was seriously hurt, while the driver and the other two passengers, from Hannibal and Palmyra, had minor injuries.
Emergency units took all four teenagers by ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment. The initial report states that everyone in the car was wearing a seat belt. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation as additional details are reviewed.
