Yuma, AZ (July 30, 2026) – A 54-year-old Yuma woman died after a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning, July 29, at the intersection of W. County 14th St and S. Fourth Ave in Yuma.
The crash occurred shortly before 7 a.m. when a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk was traveling west on County 14th St, and a 2009 Honda Fit Sport approached the intersection while traveling north on S. Fourth Ave. According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, the Honda failed to stop at a stop sign before the vehicles collided.
Both drivers were taken to Onvida Health for treatment. The driver of the Jeep suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the Honda, identified as 54-year-old Amarilis A. Jimenez de Burnett of Yuma, was initially listed in critical condition before later dying at the hospital. County 14th St has since reopened, and the investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing.
