Brooksville, FL (August 11, 2026) — A 57-year-old motorcyclist from Tampa was killed and his 63-year-old passenger was seriously injured in a collision with an SUV at State Road 50 and County Road 581 in Brooksville on Sunday, August 9.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a Jeep Commander entered the intersection against a red traffic signal as a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was crossing. The vehicles collided.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital and later died from his injuries. His passenger was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
