Pine River Township, MN (July 25, 2026) – Seven people sustained injuries after a collision involving a Hyundai Elantra and Cadillac Escalade in Pine River Township on Thursday afternoon. The crash was reported at the intersection of Highway 371 and 4th Street SW shortly before 2:40 p.m.
Investigators reported that the Hyundai was attempting to turn west onto 4th Street SW after traveling north on Highway 371 when the southbound Cadillac struck it. The Cadillac was driven by 35-year-old Daniel John Ducharme of Plymouth. Three passengers, including 33-year-old Melanie Raine Ducharme and two children, were also inside the vehicle. All four occupants suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Essentia St. Joe – Brainerd.
The Hyundai was driven by 73-year-old Dennis James Foley of Backus. His 74-year-old passenger, Nancy Ann Foley, was also hurt. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the same hospital. Alcohol was not suspected as a factor.
