Norfolk, VA January 1, 2026 – Emergency crews responded late Wednesday night to a motor vehicle accident with injuries along I-64 eastbound near exit 282 in Norfolk. The crash was reported around 10:56 p.m., with dispatch audio indicating a possible pinned victim inside one of the vehicles.
Fire and rescue personnel, including engines, ladder trucks, medics, and specialized rescue teams, were dispatched to the scene. Responders worked swiftly to assess the situation and provide care to those injured. Early reports suggested that at least one individual was trapped and required extrication from a damaged vehicle.
