How Do Intersections Like Route 19 Increase Crash Risks?
Busy intersections such as Route 19 and American Way can present a higher risk for vehicle collisions due to the volume of traffic and the number of turning movements occurring at any given time. Drivers must monitor multiple directions, signals, and surrounding vehicles, which can increase the chance of misjudgment or delayed reactions.
Crashes at intersections often happen when drivers fail to yield, misinterpret traffic signals, or attempt turns without enough space or time. Even at moderate speeds, these collisions can result in injuries that require medical attention.
Staying attentive, following traffic controls, and allowing extra time for turns or crossings are key ways drivers can reduce the likelihood of accidents in these high-traffic areas.
