Chesapeake, VA January 1, 2026 – Emergency responders were dispatched late Tuesday night to a crash involving injuries on the northbound lanes of the Chesapeake Expressway near the intersection of Gallbush Rd and S Battlefield Blvd. The incident was reported around 10:39 p.m.
According to dispatch audio, a dark gray Toyota RAV4 was identified as the vehicle involved in the crash. Upon arrival, fire and medic units located the vehicle and found a female occupant who had sustained injuries. The woman was alert but disoriented, and medics evaluated her condition at the scene.
Although no major damage was visible on the vehicle, the nature of the call prompted responders to carefully investigate the situation and provide the necessary care. Police also responded to assist with traffic control and support the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the crash or the condition of the driver beyond the initial assessment.
