Gainesville, FL (January 7, 2026) – A serious traffic collision on Monday afternoon in Gainesville left two individuals with traumatic injuries requiring emergency transport. The crash occurred near Southwest Archer Rd and triggered a dual trauma alert response, indicating the severity of the injuries sustained.
Emergency units from Alachua County Fire Rescue responded swiftly to the scene. One of the injured, a 34-year-old male, reportedly suffered a head injury and was transported as a trauma alert patient to Shands Hospital. A second individual was also transported under trauma alert status, though further details about their injuries were not immediately available.
Rescue 20 and Rescue 21 handled the patient transports, and both individuals were taken to Shands for advanced trauma care. The Florida Highway Patrol has since taken over the scene investigation, with additional law enforcement units cleared from the scene shortly after.
