Tucson, AZ (January 7, 2026) – A pedestrian was tragically killed on Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of North Swan Rd and East Fort Lowell Rd in Tucson.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. on January 4. According to dispatch audio, the pedestrian, believed to be a female, was crossing the road when she was hit by a vehicle. Emergency crews from the Tucson Fire Department and The Tucson Police Department responded swiftly to the scene.
Initial reports indicated that the pedestrian was breathing and had suffered a head injury. However, shortly after medics arrived, her condition worsened. Despite resuscitation efforts, she went into cardiac arrest and was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, reportedly in a blue Honda Pilot, remained at the location and cooperated with authorities. A dog was also found with the pedestrian at the time of the incident. The area just south of the intersection was shut down for several hours as investigators worked to document the scene and determine the cause of the crash.
This incident remains under active investigation. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.
