Portland, OR (January 7, 2026) – Several individuals sustained injuries in a traffic crash that occurred Monday along the Sunset Hwy near Exit 72 in the Southwest Hills neighborhood of Portland, not far from the Oregon Zoo.
Authorities responded to the scene just off E&B Sunset Hwy, where multiple vehicles were reportedly involved in a collision near the freeway exit. Bystanders and early responders provided initial aid until paramedics arrived to care for the injured. At least one person was treated at the scene for injuries, though the full extent of the harm remains under review.
The crash created congestion in the westbound lanes and forced temporary lane closures as Portland police and Oregon Department of Transportation crews worked to manage the scene. Vehicles sustained moderate to heavy damage, and tow trucks were called in to remove them from the roadway.
