Bridgeport, CT (January 8, 2026) – Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Wednesday afternoon on the 1100 block of Kossuth St in Bridgeport. The blaze, which broke out on the third floor of a residential building, was reported around 2:39 p.m. and was quickly brought under control by fire crews.
Emergency personnel arriving at the scene encountered smoke conditions on the upper level of the building. Crews acted swiftly to knock down the flames before they could spread to adjacent units. One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. No additional injuries or displacements have been reported at this time.
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, and Bridgeport fire officials are expected to conduct a full investigation. Further updates will be released as more details become available.
