Akron, OH (January 8, 2026) – Emergency crews responded on Wednesday morning to a serious crash near I-77 South and East Wilbeth Rd in Akron involving at least one person trapped inside a vehicle.
The incident was reported at approximately 10:32 a.m., prompting a multi-agency response from fire and medical personnel across Summit County. According to dispatch audio, crews from multiple stations, including Engine 4, Ladder 7, Battalion 4, and Med 22, were dispatched to the scene to assist with extrication efforts.
The crash occurred near the area of E Wilbeth Rd and Coventry St, not far from the I-77 corridor. Upon arrival, first responders confirmed that one or more individuals were trapped and immediately began rescue operations.
