Sacramento, CA (January 9, 2026) – A traffic collision involving at least two vehicles resulted in injuries Tuesday morning on westbound U.S. Highway 50 near the Howe Ave off-ramp.
The crash occurred around 10:43 a.m. and initially involved a white SUV and a red Tesla. According to the California Highway Patrol, one vehicle struck the center divider, and the collision caused debris to scatter across the #1 lane. A 37-year-old female occupant was reported to be conscious and alert but sustained injuries during the incident.
Paramedics were called to the scene to assess the injured party, and a tow service was requested for vehicle removal. One of the involved parties, who uses a wheelchair, remained in the vehicle for safety until emergency responders arrived. The crash caused temporary lane disruptions, though all lanes were later cleared.
CHP later updated the classification to a minor injury collision (code 1181), and the incident remains under investigation to determine fault and contributing factors.
