Lake County, FL (January 9, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck and four other vehicles brought traffic to a standstill on Florida’s Turnpike North on Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred just before Exit 282 and caused significant backups stretching through Exit 278 near Minneola.
Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that one person was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders arrived promptly, assisting at the scene and ensuring the injured parties received necessary medical care.
The crash created a major traffic disruption along the Turnpike, with congestion affecting several miles of northbound lanes. While the previously existing roadblock has since been cleared, residual delays lingered for some time afterward as vehicles were removed and traffic patterns restored.
Authorities have not yet released information on the exact cause of the crash. FHP troopers are actively investigating the incident and are working to determine whether driver error, mechanical failure, or other contributing factors played a role in the collision.
Our thoughts are with the individual injured in the crash, and we hope for their full and speedy recovery.
