What Makes Head-On Collisions Especially Dangerous?
Head-on crashes are among the most severe types of roadway accidents. When two vehicles collide frontally, the combined impact force is often much greater than in other types of crashes.
These collisions can occur when a driver crosses into an oncoming lane. This may occur due to confusion, fatigue, or reduced visibility, especially during early morning hours.
Road design and traffic speed can also influence the severity. On roads where vehicles travel quickly in opposite directions, there is often little time to react once a vehicle enters the wrong lane.
