Indianapolis, IN (January 9, 2026) – A crash involving a police vehicle resulted in injuries Thursday morning at the intersection of Thompson Rd and Madison Ave on the south side of Indianapolis. The incident occurred around 8:27 a.m. on January 8 and involved at least two individuals, including the officer.

Dispatch audio confirmed that the officer reported the crash and indicated it was a personal injury incident. Emergency medical services and a police supervisor were sent to the scene to assist. Both the officer and another involved individual reported possible injuries.

The full extent of those injuries has not yet been released. Authorities worked to secure the area and begin an investigation into the cause of the crash.
