Carter County, KY (January 10, 2026) – A serious incident late on Friday night led to the closure of Interstate 64 East near the Carter/Rowan County line after a pedestrian was struck by a tractor-trailer, according to Kentucky State Police.

The collision occurred shortly before 10:00 p.m. on January 9 near the 150-mile marker. Emergency crews responded quickly, and the injured individual was airlifted from the scene for treatment. The severity of the injuries has not been publicly disclosed.
